Quintessential Disney Snacks #RWA17

Are you going to RWA's National Conference at the Swan/Dolphin Resort in Disney World, July 26-29? Have you been to Disney World?

Not that I'm an expert in all things Disney, but I'm definitely well acquainted with Disney snacks. **And many other Disney restaurants, resorts, parks... feel free to ask me anything on Facebook or Twitter.

Here's what you might want to try at Disney World (and where to find it)!

1. Dole Whips. One of my favorites. It's simply pineapple soft serve (they also serve vanilla and chocolate, but it's the pineapple that's truly special). You can get it in a cone, cup, or as a Dole Whip Float (the soft serve floating in pineapple juice). Very refreshing on a hot summer's day. Find it in the Magic Kingdom, Adventureland. Or at the Polynesian Village Resort (no park admission needed).

2. Mickey Bars. Not much different than a Dove bar, thick chocolate crisp coating over vanilla ice cream) but this one is shaped like a Mickey head. Naturally. Find them at all parks, but there's nothing like eating one while looking at Cinderella Castle on Main Street (Disnerd Alert: If you want to sound in the know, it's actually Cinderella Castle, no possessive) in the Magic Kingdom.

3. Grey Goose Citron Slush/Grand Marnier Slush. Icy, cool, and alcoholic. Lemon or orange. I prefer the lemon. Get them at a little stand in France at Epcot's World Showcase.

4. Caramel Corn from Karamell-Kuche, made fresh and hot all day, in Germany, World Showcase, Epcot.

5. School Bread. A big bready doughnut covered in butter icing and coconut. Norway, World Showcase, Epcot.

6. Specialty Cupcakes. Visiting a Disney resort (and I'm not counting the Swan/Dolphin which are on Disney property, but not Disney owned)? The quick service venue at all resorts serve unique and special cupcakes, like the Butterfinger Cupcake, or my favorite Pina Colada Cupcake. Staying at the Swan/Dolphin? Check out the Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Boardwalk resorts. Babycakes in Disney Springs has delicious gluten free and vegan options!

7. Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel or JalapeƱo Cheese Pretzel, at the Lunching Pad in the Magic Kingdom.

8. Turkey Legs. The stuff of legend. So big some people have suggested they are actually emu legs, or ham due to the smoky flavor, but they are turkey. Smoked. Confession, I'm not a fan. They're not really easy to eat, messy, and too many tendons. But, they seem to remain popular and a must try for many Disney patrons. Find them at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs.

There you have it- my great eight of Disney snacks. But there are many more. Perhaps you'll find something you love and let me know! What's your favorite Disney snack?
