Autumn is upon
us, with the fall equinox coming up tomorrow, along with a new school year and
cooler, crisper weather in many places.
I always feel a surge of energy at this season, probably a leftover from those bygone school days. And a good
thing, too, because I’m right in the midst of my new series The Duke’s Sons,
with lots of adventures to keep track of and deadlines following one after
another. If the project was a week, I’d be somewhere around Wednesday, I guess.
If it was a year, I’d be swinging around the end of July. Wait, does that mean
I’m behind?
Why am I doing
math? Numbers are not my thing. The writing is going well, on schedule. And I’ve
discovered that I love hanging out with the same family for an extended period
of time, instead of starting fresh with a new cast of characters in each book. For
some reason, this is the first time I’ve done that. It took quite a bit of
planning up front, but now the brothers pop in and out of each other’s stories
with ease. Or maybe I mean charming complications.
I hope your
autumn is productive and happy. I’m heading back to my cavalry major and his
intended, now, to extricate them from a spot of trouble. You can find the first
book in the series, Heir to the Duke, in January. I think the cover is
gorgeous.
The cover is gorgeous! I love her gown Looking forward to reading it, Jane :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christy!
DeleteI'm not a fan of math, either, Jane.
ReplyDeleteLet's stick to what we're good at...words!
Congrats on your historical!
I'm with you, Ashlyn!
DeleteI love the fall. Still waiting on those crisper temps, though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cover, Jane! Congrats on the new series. I like the sound of those charmingly complicated brothers.
