The hero is handsome, fearless, can throw knives and use a
sword…and is highly educated.
Sometimes when writing romance novels it’s very easy to overlook the smart guy. After all he’s not out there fighting goblins or defeating druids. It’s not that he can’t, or hasn’t, but he’d rather be doing something else, like studying magic to try and break the curse.
He’s quieter, not because he has nothing to say (he can speak hundreds of now dead languages) but because he likes to keep his secrets hidden. And Dai, the hero of Kiss of the Goblin Prince, has plenty of secrets.
Of course now he’s back in the Fixed Realm (our world) and human again he can’t talk about goblins, or Romans, or magic or any of the things that made him who he is. People would think him insane.
Amanda would think he was crazy, and he wants Amanda even though he knows better than to risk loving someone who could never understand what he has seen and done.

Trapped for centuries in the bleak
Shadowlands, Dai clings to his humanity with a thirst for knowledge. But now
he's free of the goblin curse, and some would say he knows too much- he can
make nature bend to his will, influence the minds of others, and command magic.
Yet love eludes him. Then he meets Amanda, a single mother with a sick daughter
whom he feels compelled to protect. But could she possibly place her trust in
the kiss of a goblin prince?
"Darkly Celtic, richly imagined, this is paranormal romance at its
best." -Juliet Marilier, award-winning author of Daughter of the Forest
praise for The Goblin King
Ms.
Husk has woven a tale of magic and myth, love and sacrifice. Her goblin and
magic lore is fascinating and it creates an intricate and richly detailed plot.
Dai is a tortured soul. When everything he's worked for comes to fruition, he
finds little comfort in being human again. The courage he shows in facing his
past is awe inspiring. ~ The Romance Studio 5 hearts

Congrats on the release! I like alpha warrior heroes best. I have to say from the response I got on my tortured hero, they are very popular with readers.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, congratulations, Shona!!!! You mean I have to choose which is my favorite hero? I won't. I can't. Some days a gal needs one kind of hero, and another day, some other kind. I mean, as long as he's heroic, who would want to give him up? :) Can you tell I'm nearing the end of writing a mss??? I don't want to give up my hero! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Shona! Dai sounds like my kind of here... hot, tortured, heart of a warrior.. Yup! This one is a winner, I can tell :-D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new release. Sounds great. I love the cover. My favorite heroes are alphas and wounded/tortured heroes.

Cowboys! Of course, I'd choose a man with boots and a Stetson! But if we close our eyes and strip away all the sexy eye candy, then we see only the heroes heart and that is a whole 'nother matter! Good luck with your fantastic new book and the hero that rules it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the latest release! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite heroes would be the alphas and the tortured ones. I guess that's why Paranormal Romance books are my favourite reads because many of the heroes in the genre have these traits.
